Dog Photoshoot Locations

The question of where to would you like your photoshoot to take place is a pretty important one, as whilst your pet is the main subject of the images that will be produced the background and setting chosen also really matter as they play a key role in your final images.

Would you like it to be in a place that holds special memories for you and your family?

Would you like to create new memories in a beautiful setting?

Somewhere you and your pet are familiar so they stay relaxed throughout?

Somewhere new and exciting for all?

Somewhere with water to play in?

These are all things to think about; if it is somewhere special to you I am happy to travel, and love exploring new places (I do ask for a contribution towards fuel after 25 miles from Milnthorpe). If you are unsure then get in touch as there are plenty of places I can suggest and together we can find the right one! Below are a few of my favourite places for a little inspiration.

You will find my girl Eva popping up in each of the locations below before I am happy to recommend somewhere I like to have a try out the location with Eva 1st!

Fell Foot  - Windermere

Fell Foot Park is a National Trust property, situated at the bottom of Lake Windermere, a fantastic all round family friendly location for a pet photoshoot suitable for dogs and humans of all sizes and ages!

There is a meadow that is perfect for some action shots at one end, a cafĂ© serving lots of lovely dishes at the other, with some pretty wooded areas  which are great for portrait shots and direct safe access to the lake  lake which is brilliant for the water loving dogs (Labradors I'm looking at you!)

Using the Lake for those water loving dogs is a really fun way to capture some really unique photographs of them, I offer this between March and October - to get the best shots I have to be in the water at eye level, it is a little too chilly in the winter for that!!

Fell Foot is also the location I am really excited to be using to host 'Pop Up' mini sessions in the future, with access to their active base for studio style shoots which will be awesome in case the weather doesn't quite behave!

Great for;

A large variety of settings to choose from in a relatively small area

Iconic Windermere location

Swimming and water shots

Easy access (including wheelchair and pram)

Roan Head - Nr Ulverston

Who doesn't love a good beach!!!??  Especially proper a beach with sand and sand dunes and some water to play in too! This is a great location for a full family photoshoot. Zoomies seem to be intensified in the sand and there is also usually lots of fun digging too (children and dogs alike)! For a young pup, Roan head is also just perfect as can get a variety of different shots without them having to walk very far from the car park. A general all round fun location to do some pet photography in. You won't be disappointed!

Great for;

Stunning pawtraits (sorry I couldn't help myself!) with a soft sandy backdrop

Zoomies and some awesome action shots

Easy access very short walk from the car park to the Dunes

Sunsets (weather permitting)

Blea Tarn - Nr Ambleside

Blea Tarn is pretty much the perfect location for a dog photoshoot, with a little bit of field for some action shots, one of the most famous views in the Lake District overlooking the Tarn itself, the tarn itself for some great water shots and a small pine tree woodland all completely accessible as only a 2 min walk from the car park (it is a National Trust car park so there is a small charge). It is even wheelchair and pram accessible!

Blea Tarn is a short and very scenic drive away from Ambleside (it is a bit of a narrow drive in places, but I can always meet you in Ambleside and then you can follow me up).

Great for;

Absolutely spectacular landscapes

Fun in the water

Stunning and changing tones, Blea Tarn looks totally different depending on the time of year you visit.

Bolton-le-Sands beach - nr Carnforth

The Beach at Bolton le Sands is an amazing location for sunsets, we do have to be a little more careful with the location and picking times depending on the tide and the weather, but when everything is aligned it is just fabulous for a photoshoot location! With gullies for jumping and an incredible expansive area for zoomies. When choosing for a sunset shoot I can only offer at certain times as a helper is needed to create the striking look that is only achievable by taking the studio lights outside.

Great for;

Striking head-turning images

if you don't mind everybody getting a little muddy and having fun!
